Who we are

About Quorum

A sourcing desk built on two ideas: that the organizations most likely to sign a bad contract are the ones nobody serves, and that a business paid by the supplier can still be trusted if it tells you so every single time.

Why we exist

The meetings industry is well served at the top. A thousand-person conference has a professional planner and an agency behind it. A sixty-person offsite has an office manager with a spreadsheet and a contract nobody has read.

That’s not because the small end is unprofitable — the largest company in this business books an average programme of around 187 room nights, which is a small meeting. It’s because they staff it with independent contractors who have to find every piece of business themselves, which caps what one person can do.

We solved that by going through associations instead, which is why our people can be employees instead of commission-only contractors.

And why we disclose

There is an obvious objection to an advisory service the venue pays for: you’re paid by the people you recommend, so how can anyone trust the recommendation.

The honest answer is that you can’t, on our word alone. So we built the answer into the product instead — every rate shown on every comparison, a ranking function that architecturally cannot see commission, and specialists whose bonus depends on contract quality rather than on which property you pick.

Regulators are heading this way regardless. We’d rather be early and mean it.

Straight answers

Things we’d rather you heard from us

  1. The market is flat right now

Only 23 percent of event professionals expect to run more meetings in 2026 than 2025, and 40 percent expect attendance down ten percent or more. Room rates are rising, which partly offsets it. We’d rather you knew that than discovered it after signing with us.

  2. We’re new

Which is why the first engagement is one event, why we’ll tell you on the call if you don’t qualify, and why there’s no retainer and nothing to cancel.

  3. Commission is 7 percent at the major brands

Not ten. It was cut in 2018 and never restored, and the base is guest rooms only — not food and beverage, not A/V, not meeting space. Anyone quoting you ten as the market rate hasn’t checked since 2017. The claim is proved by the brand circulars themselves: Marriott effective 31 March 2018, Hilton 1 October 2018, IHG 1 January 2019, Hyatt 1 February 2019 — US and Canada.

  4. We’re a venture of Richburg Consulting, LLC

Based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Minority-owned small business · SAM.gov registered · WOSB certification pending.

Meetings outlook: American Express Global Business Travel / Northstar 2026 forecast. Commission cut: brand circulars as dated above.
